Wow, not entirely sure where the time went there...
It's been... a time. My day job has been incredibly busy, I've taken on some extra days, we lost my grandma, and our housemate moved back to India, so it's been all go, but today, we're back on the blog!
Fortunately, I did get my cat print finished. I started my drawing at outlining the cats faces onto the canvas, and then sketched out the letting I had been practicing in my sketchbook, and then gradually filled in with paint. I outlined with a pen, just as I had done before. The pencil didn't rub off of the canvas all that well, so I tried to paint over it, which ended up just making much of the canvas look quite mucky and sad.
I also decided that I didn't like the shape of the cats heads and how I'd drawn them, I'd slightly shifted this from how I'd drawn them in my sketchbook. I've debated drawing them again, but I might maybe scan in some of my drawings and see what I can do digitally by adding some different flowers.
I'm planning on doing a similar piece for a friends birthday, so I can have a go with working on it digitally then. I've taken some time away from my day job this week to get back on top of freelance working, so hopefully I'll be back later in the week with some more funky cool drawings!
